Christian Family Groups Harassed by Gays

A family organization that encourages parents to call their children out of school on April 17 (if their local school will be permitting students and/or teachers to remain silent during instructional time for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) Day of Silence) has been receiving threathening phone calls and e-mails from gays.

Day of Silence is meant to be a campaign against name calling, bullying, and harassment. In voice and e-mail messages from Day of Silence supporters, staff members of Capitol Resource Institute (CRI) and another family organization are called “bigot,” “disgusting,” “evil spawn,” and much more.

Karen England, Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute commented, “If this is the kind of atmosphere we get just for asking kids to stay home, in an email, can you imagine what it is like for kids refusing to stay silent?” READ THE FULL ARTICLE
