A woman carrying a concealed weapon shot and killed the gunman believed to be responsible for the recent shootings at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, and at Youth With A Mission in suburban Denver.
According to Colorado Springs Police Sgt. Jeff Johnson, mass murderer Murray had over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. You don’t have to be a math major to realize that with 7,000 worshipers in church that day, had it not been for Jean Assam, many hundreds of people could have been slaughtered like sitting (unarmed) ducks.
Jean Assam, who was ending a three day fast, said, “I was praying to God that he direct me in what to do in life… God made me strong… God guided me and protected me… I give credit to God.”
New Life Church Senior Pastor Brady Boyd called Assam “a real hero.”
Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, is also applauding Assam. What’s your take? And what would you do if you were in her boots?

Hello,
This is a great opportunity for the readers of The Voice magazine to post their thoughts on these subjects. So, let’s see what the Holy Spirit is saying to the believers.

Well, I certainly don’t want to see our country reduced to the shoot out mentality of the old west. At the same time, since the alarming incidents of mass shootings by the hand of young people in our nation have made headlines so many times this year and this case of the church woman in Colorado is the only time one of these mad gunmen was stopped before killing more people… it certainly makes a good case for our right to bear arms.
God knows the number of all of our days. Looks like when the mass murderer was taken out, apparently his humber was up. I will not pass judgement on the woman who took him out. And I know that there are votes for and against her. However, my own personal view is that if I were in her shoes and had the responsibility to help save the people, I would have wanted to be able to try to reason with him in not doing this ghastly thing (myself being properly shielded and covered in an army tank while talking to him, of course :)). But seriously, I would hope to have avoided taking his life if at all possible. If anything had to be done to him, I would rather have wounded him instead of taking his life. But because our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, it’s possible that the taking of his life was permitted because God knew the end from the beginning regarding this entire matter.
It is a sad statement of the times, a person willing to enter a church with murder on his mind and a gun in his hand. Only God knows what the ned would have been if she had not interevened, no will ever know if it could have been different, the known fact is this, lives werer spared, period. I am not in favor of ‘packing heat’ in church, but, what if she had not had her gun whith her?
