Emerging Church Leader Believes All Religions Should Unite

Brian McLaren believes Christians should unite with other religions to accomplish things that “matter greatly to the heart of God.” But is this what Jesus meant when He prayed, “Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are?” (John 17:11) Absolutely not! Read the report below and let us know what you think.

(OneNewsNow) A Christian broadcaster claims that Emerging Church leader Brian McLaren is fulfilling the biblical prophecy that in the latter days men will not put up with sound doctrine – according to II Timothy 4:3.

Brian McLaren recently addressed 650 Anglican bishops attending the Lambeth Conference, a meeting he says was characterized by “a loving atmosphere” and “a deep spirituality centered in Bible study, worship, and prayer.” McLaren tells Christian reporters that he envisions a new era for Christianity, which “is more about the Christian way of life than it is about a rigid and polemicized systems of belief.”

Tom McMahon, president of the The Berean Call ministry, says McLaren is obviously ashamed of the biblical gospel and is bent upon making it accommodate his own ideas about Christianity and “the Christian way of life.”

“Once you throw off biblical doctrine, what do you have to guide you? This is to me a reflection of what Satan did with Eve in the Garden – this is Genesis 3:1, ‘Yea, hath God said?’ In other words, if you undermine what God had said, then what have you got?” he questions. “Well, you’ve got Proverbs 14:12, ‘There’s a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death’ — or destruction.”

McLaren also tells Christian reporters the future of Christianity will also require Christians to “join humbly and charitably with people of other faiths — Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, secularists and others — in pursuit of peace, environmental stewardship,” and other things that quote “matter greatly to the heart of God.” But McMahon argues that what matters most to the heart of God is that individuals receive salvation on “his terms…through his gospel.”

“And that’s what people of the world, people of faith desperately need,” the ministry leader concludes.

McLaren has joined the Matthew 25 Network, a liberal political action group of Catholics, Protestants, Pentecostals and Evangelicals seeking to get Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) elected president.

The Bible admonishes us in Prov 4:7 that wisdom is principal, therefore get it (wisdom); but in all thy getting, get “understanding”. Today, people appear to be shrinking back or “drawing” back for the sake of “being nice” or “people pleasing”. Jesus did teach us to “love one another”. But are we doing a kind of “superficial” loving out of blindness from the devil, foolishness, lack of the wisdom and understanding from God, or is it a mixture of “all of the above”? If we humbly mingle with all other faiths with “no” positive soul-saving results, we “miss the point” of God’s teaching us to show love for one another. If we “model” Paul but “follow Jesus” in becoming all things to all men; then we do well if we humbly join in to help them learn about and get to know the true Son and Father of us all, and the trials and tribulations we have to endure in leading people to Jesus Christ so that souls can be “saved” unto “everlasting life. We can’t just humbly join in to everybody’s “religion” so that our own souls would be “lost” to hell and damnation forever more!

Jesus proved the best teacher when he came to seek and save the “lost”. Remember when he had dinner with the sinners and the “religious leaders” complained? But after that dinner, the sinners were saved unto a new way of life. So Jesus humbly joined in with the others, but He did “not” change His way of being about the Father’s business. It is not right that we should get caught up in being “nice” for unclear reasons. We owe no man “anything” except to “love” him. Let’s seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit in “how” we should humbly join other causes and religions regarding what matters to the heart of God. From Him comes wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. The Bible says that we “can” ask Him for it (but without being double minded, though) and He will give it to us. Just remember, in Matt 24:24, Jesus Himself warnes us to be v e e e r y careful, for false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to “DECEIVE”, if possible, even the v e e e r y “elect”. And “WHO” is the “master” deceiver trying to take everybody to hell with him?? Watch out, he’s a great soul snatcher… don’t let him snatch yours!! … Help us all, Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ name… Amen! …..
