No Flour and Rice. Is Food Rationing ahead?

When was the last time you saw food rationing in the United States? According to The New York Sun “Major retailers in New York, in areas of New England, and on the West Coast are limiting purchases of flour, rice, and cooking oil as demand outstrips supply.”

What about your area? Is flour and rice still available? Is food rationing ahead? Will you purchase extra this week?

At the moment, I am living in New York. There are reports in the news each day about how bad the economy is. When I go to market, the prices are really outlandish for many things. So if the price is too high for something I can do without, I don’t buy it. If I want it bad enough, or if I need it, I will go ahead and buy it. But I have noticed that excess spending has stopped compared to when I was working. I have retired now and my pension is my salary or present income. I am paying for all the expenses in my home; and they are very high. There are five people here, two older persons, two students, and a toddler. Presently I am seeking another career. I don’t worry and am not anxious about anything. God is here with me always! I will never beg for bread.

I share this because I can truly make this testimony and confess that God is good and He is REAL. He is my provider, healer, and miracle worker. Even though I don’t have a lot, He’s sustaining me. I am believing that the neighborhood where I live has not suffered in the same way that other neighborhoods have suffered and are suffering because of His child who is here (me!). He is not destroying it for the sake of my faith, trust, and belief in Him; and I appreciate that so much! (I know that there are probably more believers in town who have not bowed the knee to Baal, but this little testimonial is about my love for God and my thanks to Him right now.)

Recently, I haven’t looked for flour and rice in stores; but as far as I know, in my neighborhood, they are still available. But even if they were not, I thank God for my efforts in attempting to eat differently. I have moved away from those starches in my diet. So glory to my God, even if they were to be rationed, it would not affect me. God knows “ALL” things. He knew the end from the very beginning. Hallelujah! Hallelujah to His wonderful name! I give you praise, O’ Lord; You are my Hope. …Amen.
