Just moments ago the California Supreme Court overturned a voter-approved ban on gay marriage in a ruling that would allow same-sex couple in nation’s largest state to get legally married.

Christian’s morn today after news of Sunday’s tragedy. Gospel singer Dottie Rambo died Sunday when her tour bus ran off the road. The accident was two miles east of Mount Vernon on Interstate 44 near Springfield, Missouri. Seven others were injured and treated in a nearby hospital. Rambo was headed to Texas for a Mother’s Day performance.

In November Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa sent letters to six ministries that preach a gospel of prosperity about their finances.
Today Christian leaders signed a letter addressed to the Senate Finance Committee inquiring into the investigation of these ministries including Eddie Long, Randy and Paula White, Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, and Kenneth Copeland. After nearly five hours, the Vallejo City Council voted unanimously late Tuesday night to file Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection. The city faces a $16 million deficit in the 2008-2009 budget starting July 1 and unsuccessfully negotiated with its police, firefighter and electrical workers unions for contract concessions through 2012. Public safety salaries comprise 74 percent of the city’s general fund budget.

Federal agents raided the office and home of U.S. Special Counsel Scott Bloch on Tuesday while investigating whether the nation’s top protector of whistle-blowers destroyed evidence potentially showing he retaliated against his own staff.
