Should We Boycott McDonald’s

McDonald’s has signed on to a nationwide effort to promote “gay” and “lesbian” business ventures.

According to McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner, McDonald’s will aggressively promote the homosexual agenda. In remarks on McDonald’s Web site concerning the company becoming a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Skinner wrote: “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world…and we do.”

The company gave an undisclosed amount of money to the NGLCC in return for being recognized as a major promoter of the homosexual agenda. In return, NGLCC placed Richard Ellis, vice president of communications of McDonalds USA, on the NGLCC Board of Directors.

Ellis was quoted as saying: “I’m thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work. I share the NGLCC’s passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community, and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward.”

McDonald’s refused to comment to World Net Daily on the placement of its executive on the board of the “gay” advocacy organization but did send an e-mail confirming the corporation’s support for the agenda of the homosexual business lobby.

“McDonald’s is indeed a Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally of NGLCC. Our vice president of U.S. communications, Richard Ellis, was recently elected to its board of directors,” said Heidi M. Barker, senior director of media relations for McDonald’s. NGLCC describes itself as promoting the LGBT community first and always, including same sex marriage.

NGLCC gives credit to sponsors such as McDonald’s for its financial and other support that helps in its work. “Through the commitment of our corporate partners, the NGLCC has been able to advance the ideas and causes of the LGBT business community,” the Chamber said.

The American Family Association is actively working to get the word out. Here’s what the group suggests you can do:

  • Call your local McDonald’s and ask why McDonald’s is using its size and resources to promote the homosexual agenda.
  • Send an e-mail to McDonald’s.
  • Tell your family and friends to do the same
  • Click here to visit the AFA’s website for ongoing coverage.

      No.

Boycotts are an inaction, not an action. “Let’s make a statement by NOT doing something.” Doesn’t make sense.

Also, McDonald’s is far too large a corporation for any boycott by any group to have any effect whatsoever. So… the inaction would be wasted effort–or wasted lack of effort. Remember the boycott of Disney by those opposed to the extending of employee benefits to same-sex partners? Yeah, that really put a dent in Disney’s profit, didn’t it?

If you feel that strongly about it… then maybe just pray for them.

I strongly disagree with the previous writer in that we must be responsible and accountable as to where we spend our money. There are billions of Christians all over the world and hundreds of thousands in the United States. If we would strategically choose to support financially those businesses that represent the values we believe in we can restore a kingdom culture to America.

We must begin to support what we SAY we believe. An old adage says “Put your money where your mouth is”. It’s time for believers to pray and then get up and do something or choose not to do something. History has proven that this type of boycott works. Remember the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 which lasted a year and gave birth to what we know now as the Civil Rights Movement led by the infamous Dr. Martin Luther King. Those believers prayed and then they did something or in this case - chose not to do something. If only believers today would recognize the power and influence we have - we could literally change our cities, nation, and eventually the world.

In Luke 17:22-29, Jesus is telling us that when he returns, it will be like in the days of Noah when God destroyed the world because of sinful man. He also makes reference to the days of Lot when Sodom was destroyed. In Jude 3-16, we are exhorted to contend earnestly for the faith because certain “ungodly” men have crept in “unnoticed” and deny God and Jesus. God destroyed those who were once saved out of Egypt because they did not believe in Him. Sodom and Gomorrah “and cities around them” corrupted themselves and gave themselves over to strange flesh and sexual immorality. They’re examples of suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Yet, Michael, God’s archangel did not bring reviling accusation against the devil when he contended for Moses’ body; but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” So for people seeking more power and money to advance themselves to top positions, they can be seen like those “cities around Sodom & Gomorrah”. The Bible says “Woe to them!” For they’ve gone the way of Cain, having run “greedily” in the error of Balaam for profit, and are punished in rebellion. But the Lord is coming with ten thousands of His saints and He’s going to execute judgment and convict “all” the ungodly.

Jesus knew that there would be things going on like this in the end times. So to us, lewd behavior and greedy actions are not new to us. We, who love God’s word, should continue to pray for their eyes to be opened to His truth, and we should continue to contend for their souls and compel them to come. With gentleness and respect, we can tell them that God considers this behavior an abomination, and they should seriously consider repenting and giving up this lifestyle. If they continue in that lewd “way”, it will be to the detriment of their physical, spiritual, and eternal health.

So, if we do consider boycotting Mc Donald’s, maybe it should basically be for our own reasons of health first. Recently a t.v. program aired on one of the PBS channels where research was done regarding foods and drinks in some fast-food chains. They said that Mc Donald’s “entire” meal, including drinks, is full of cheap products made from “corn” to keep prices down. They said that their food is fed with or made with corn, corn starch, corn syrup sweeteners and fried in corn oil, which is hugely nothing but unneeded, excess starch going into our bodies and can lead to many people becoming overweight and many of them can get diabetes. And yes, we can boycott this business based on our belief in godly morals. It’s our right!

I sent and email to McDonalds about their support to the NGLCC. Below is my email to them and their response to it:

      I wrote:
I have always thought of McDonalds as a family restaurant. However, I have recently been advised of your company’s decision to financially support the NGLCC and their push to promote their homosexual agenda. Please know that their are Millions of Christian families in America who are customers that frequent your restaurants throughout the nation. Why then have you chosen to use the money and influence of the restaurant to support and promote such an antifamily agenda?

      McDonald’s Response:

      Hello Sherea:

Thank you for contacting McDonald’s. We appreciate this opportunity to share information regarding our commitment to our employees as well as the communities that we serve.

First, it’s important to note that McDonald’s respects and values people. Diversity and inclusion are business imperatives and integral components of McDonald’s culture. We believe that by embracing our differences we are better enabled to value and respect other people as well as understand differing points of view.

We have a long and proud history of leadership in these areas. We continually strive to maintain an environment in which everyone feels valued and accepted. We encourage employees to recognize and appreciate the contributions that all diverse groups and individuals bring to the McDonald’s system.

Specifically regarding the AFA Action Alert Newsletter, here are the facts:

      - All references to comments from Jim Skinner, McDonald’s CEO in the Action Alert Newsletter are complete fabrications.

      - While one McDonald’s employee is affiliated with the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), McDonald’s is in no way “aggressively promoting the homosexual agenda” as suggested in the newsletter.

      - The NGLCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to support economic opportunities for the gay and lesbian business community.

      - In addition to McDonald’s, there are numerous other Fortune 500 companies that serve as corporate partners with NGLCC.

      - McDonald’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is a business driver and part of our culture.

      - At McDonald’s, we treat all our employees and customers with dignity and respect regardless of their ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or any other differentiating factor.

Thank you for sharing your personal point of view on this topic with us.

I am convinced that the problem is not with gays and lesbians, McDonalds or anyone that is not a born again believer. God said, IF MY PEOPLE WHICH ARE CALLLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES (NOT BOYCOTT) REPENT< PRAY AND TURN FROM !!!THEIR WICKED WAYS< I WILL HEAR, ANSWER, AND HEAL THEIR LAND. WHAT is it going to take for us to just do what He said. If we spent half the time on our knees praying that we spend, especially on so called “Christian Radio” talking and whining, we would see our God at work. Let’s pray not gripe. Pastor Jerry Grant

I believe that this article completely reveals to us all the complete and moral decay of our country. Our founding fathers built this country on, “In God We Trust”, but this has dramatically changed. With corporate America spear-heading our country towards hell, we Christians must stand-up and let our voices be made known. If you are too shy to speak up, than at least do as I do, and stop eating at McDonald’s as I will from this day forward because I will never again allow for my money to propagate and perpetuate the preached message of the demonic strongman of ‘perversion’ to our children and to the nations.

If it’s doubtable don’t do it! McDonalds has to stand up for whats right. The Problem is they don’t know what is right. My family and my church family have and are going to encourage others to stop buying food from McDonalds. We don’t want to be a partaker of other mens sins. Christ said, “We are in the World, but not to be of it!” “If the salt has lost it’s savor wherewith shall it be salted it is thence good for nothing but to be cast out and be trooded under foot of men.” “We are called to be light but also called to be salt and that means we are to slow down the decay of decency. America is becomming a more ungodly place daily.I don’t have to be that way, and neither does any corporation are individual. Additionaly, the Scriptures teach us that we are to “come out from amoungst them and be ye seperate saith the Lord and I will recieve you”. In other words, I will accept you, and honor you.

      Biblical references for consideration.

Recently I made a valid complaint to McDonalds customer services dept. about McDonalds poor standards at thier Harben Parade branch at Swiss Cottage, London NW3. The complaint concerned slow service, abrasive attitudes, and matters aboutunacceptable hygeine standards.

The complaint was passed on to the store by customer services, following which the store’s manager, Bakry, promptly banned me from the store. He did not deny that my complaint was valid, but was told that I was banned simply becauseI I had made the complaint in the first place. Their management team consists entirely of immigrants, having come here on dodgy visas and the like, and all of which in favour of my ban, which shows how much we are now
under the control of illegal immigrants.

Perhaps this is consistent with McDonalds training practices. It would appear that you have to accept their adverse practices without question or suffer the consequences, as I myself did.

Comment: I am a senior citizen who has been going to McDonalds for over 10 years, having coffee and breakfast with other seniors. 1.You have contaminated the area with bug spray which has caused myself & others headaches.(which I have at this writing)- 2.You have a worker named Sarah who will not stay out of others business. She also sprays and cleans around us just to hear what we are saying. She has caused nothing but trouble since she has been there, she has been fired once or twice, but they keep letting her return. If she doesn’t like someone she sprays the windows or tables with cleaning spray, while we are there because she knows most of us are allergic to the spray. Every worker that is worth anything(meaning they work hard and fast)dislikes her as she is always spreading rumors. I have watched “good” workers come and go because of the managements hiring, and keeping constantly tardy rude employees and causing the “good” workers to overwork because they want to do the job correctly even at minimum wage.
No, I have not been involved in any problems with others in there although(again Sarah) made everyone think I was.
I was even welcomed back by Mr Parnell, when I didn’t know I was gone?
I go to McDonalds as an outlet and a place to eat, since my husband died I have other things to do and places to go. I and others do not need the “staff” making us feel “they” are doing us a favor to “put” up with us. I appreciate everyone who is doing their job and I let them know it.

I arrived and ordered my breakfast this am and was greeted by the manager(Sherry?) of the store who told me that I was not welcome and asked to not come back. The reason given, was “because I had complained several times to Corporate and they didn’t like me doing that, so they didn’t want me coming in anymore”. I then expained that I had a right to complain and that was the first time that I had,(I knew that I was being blamed for other’s complaints.
I have been an owner of several business’s, with 30 or more employees over many years and have never let my employees treat customers in such a manner. The attitude of the management and some employees is as though they “owned” and controlled the place. (maybe that has something to do with the loss of money)
My impression after this many years of watching the action there is: “someone is taking a successful business and making a failure out of it.”

Your response would be appreciated and expected.
      Thank you
