Richard Greene, a speech coach to Presidents, Prime Ministers, Fortune 500 CEOs and celebrities (even Princess Diana), expects Governor Palin to woo and win over much of America with her speech tonight at the Republican National Convention.
“Despite the controversies and concerns, I expect Gov. Palin to score big points for John McCain Wednesday night because of her skills as a communicator,” Greene said. After her initial speech last Friday, Sarah Palin appears to possess an exceedingly rare combination of qualities as a speaker.
According to Greene, “she is tremendously poised, energetic and confident; seemingly able to blend warmth and femininity with toughness, polish, and passion. At the same time, she conveys a very real “every woman”, hockey-mom quality. If she is able to put the controversies aside and perform up to her potential, she will rock the house and will be the major component of whatever bump the Republicans get from this convention.”
Richard has analyzed political speeches for television, radio and print, at the 1996, 2000, 2004 Democratic and Republic conventions, and authored one of the most highly-regarded books on the art of public speaking: “Words that Shook the World: 100 Years of Unforgettable Speeches and Events.”
