Can you believe another year has gone by already? This time of year is exciting for me because I love beginnings. Lot’s of people are searching the Internet for New Year predictions and prophecies. The Holy Spirit says varied things depending on His audience and one’s particular situation. Here is what I believe He is saying to those who follow this ministry.
Decision
We are products of past decisions. If you made right decisions then you are enjoying those benefits. If you made wrong decisions then you are probably reaping some negatives in your life or soon will.
Decisions determine outcomes.
Jesus gave us the key to happiness, purpose and how to make a difference with our lives. He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). When we make up our mind that we are going to put the kingdom of God first, His word, government, principles, precepts’ and culture, then our lives will benefit from Christ’ wisdom.
Much of what will take place in your life in 2008 will be defined by your decisions this month. January is a good time to think about your life, this year and make some specific goals. Goals set directions. They are the destinations of your journey this year. If you don’t take the time to set them in place then you will be blown here and there by every wind of adversity that comes you way. Don’t fall into that trap. Set some goals today.
I was watching two professionals’ box the other day. After the rounds were complete the judges declared a winner. The announcer grabbed the microphone, as the audience silenced in anticipation, and said the judges had made a decision. The winner’s name was announced. What struck me was the outcome of the fight was made by the decision. Think of it. The outcome of your walk with God in 2008 has a lot to do with the decisions you make right now.
Alignment
Rhonda and I rented a house in Blowing Rock, North Carolina after Christmas to spend some time with our family. Fourteen people in one house didn’t create a relaxing environment but it was still fun. One morning I managed to pull out my painter’s box to paint my next masterpiece. Then the Holy Spirit spoke this word to me – leap. Did you know that 2008 is a leap year? I didn’t. Pastor Brian Burke reminded me of it and when he did that wow feeling of confirmation hit my soul. Every four years our calendar is adjusted. They call it an intercalary.
During leap year there is an insertion of time. Its purpose is to align us to the approaching season.
Obviously without these occasional adjustments we drift off track and miss the season for sowing. Could it be possible the Holy Spirit is talking about adding extra time for some to make some adjustments in their lives? Do you feel like you may have drifted off course and need an intercalary (insertion of time) to align your life with God’s word?
Opportunity
Some are prophesying a recession for 2008. There are many good people working in crisis industries now from banking to construction and real estate to brokerage firms.
As Christians we are citizens of the kingdom of God. There is no lack in the kingdom of God. As we learn how the kingdom functions we can benefit in our personal lives during every economic cycle.
Last year we published my book Kingdom Living. This essay is helping thousands of people find their purpose and access the benefits of the kingdom. In 2003 the Holy Spirit said to me, “It’s time for the kings to arise.” When you understand that you are both a priest and a king then you will know that 2008 is a great year of opportunity to you.
I am reminded of the ministry of King Uzziah. He was sixteen years old when he entered his kingship. Afterwards the bible says he built and restored the kingdom. As apostolic believers we understand the idea of apostolic ministry and restoration of all things. Notice that Uzziah did not prosper plentifully until crowned king.
Understanding your kingship will help you see 2008 full of great opportunities.
You were created for dominion. God has an expectation of you. He expects you to multiply, be productive, increase, subdue and take dominion. One thing that always comes to my mind is this, “As long as Uzziah sought the Lord God made him to prosper.” Put Christ and his kingdom first in everything you do and you will have much to rejoice about this year.
2008 is your year for kingdom decisions, alignment and opportunity.
Please keep us in prayer. Spirit of Life Ministries, my home church in Hallandale Beach, Florida is doing well. I know GOD is up to something and it’s going to be AWESOME!!!
When I heard the Word of the Lord for 2008 is LEAP. My spirit soared because I recognized the L stands for LOOK, LISTEN, LEARN & LEAD.
The E says, “EXPECT EXCELLENCE EVERYDAY”. The A stands for ADJUSTING our ATTITUDES and ACT in (kingdom)AUTHORITY. The P is for POSSESSING the PROMISES of God through PRAYER, PURPOSE, and POWER.
This is an exciting time. We are entering into our kingship and learning how the Kingdom of God operates. He is opening our understanding of who he is and who we are in Him. I think the key goal is to put God first, then open our spritual/natural eyes and ears, to the endless possibilities that lie ahead. As we manifest, His glory in us, through us,in order to establish His rule and reign. Let us remember God needs us to be free, so we can truly be led by His Spirit. When we are in our rightful place there is such a peace to make kingdom decisions,to align ourselves with the Word of God and to respond to the opportunities that God has pre arranged for us. With God on our side, we just can’t lose!
