ABC-7 television reporter Darren Hunt and cameraman Ric Dupont were illegally handcuffed and detained on I-10 in El Paso, Texas when reporting on a truck accident. What happened to freedom of the press? This is a clear violation of the US Constitution. Was there something in that truck this law enforcement officer didn’t want TV7 to see? When was the last time you saw police officers handcuffing a TV reporter? If police officers handcuff, detain and arrest reporters, journalists and writers what then for the average citizen? This is more evidence that we as American citizens must continually uphold the United States Constitution and the rule of law before we become a complete police state. Our citizens should not have to fear those we pay to serve and protect us. Let’s see if this officer is disciplined? If you are a police officer then don’t let this kind of stuff continue. This is not about the brother hood, this is about the America we all want to protect.
