THE FAILURE OF PASTORAL-ONLY CHURCHES

Our pastoral-only model of Christian leadership, ministry and church is ineffective. Without an apostolic shift to a more biblical model of ministry Islam will overtake America.

Christianity and Christian culture is being overrun by Islam.

According to Muslim Demographics in Europe, for example, 90% of the population growth has been Islamic. Where France has 1.8 children per family Muslims have 8.1 children per family.

In southern France there is now more mosque than churches. 30% of the children age 20 and younger are Islamic and in Nice and Paris that number has grown to 45%. By 2027 20% of the population will be Muslim and in just 39 years France will be a new Islamic republic.

In the last 30 years the Muslim population of Britain rose from 82,000 to over 2.5 million with over 1000 mosques. In The Netherlands over 50% of all new-born babies are Muslim and in only 15 years 50% of Holland will be Muslim.

In Russia 23 million is now Muslim and soon over 40% of the Russian military will also be Muslim.

According to the German Federal Statistics Office, “The fall in the (German) population can no longer be stopped. It’s downward spiral is no longer reversible… It will be a Muslim state by the year 2050.”

The American / western model of pastoral care as the central focus of church leadership worked within a society that was significant homogeneous. When a congregation are culturally similar, there are few roadblocks to that congregation growing through bible teaching focused on / build around one person.

However, the post modern social order which is culturally diverse, has created large gaps in people understanding of biblical influence, and the importance of the same in everyday life. These gaps are not met simply by the preaching of the word from a pulpit.

Maybe this is why the biblical model outlined in Ephesians 4 is for the entire body of Christ to be taught to use thier own unique and individual gifts to benefit the entire church. When we do this, the body of Christ grows, matures, and takes on the full representation of the character and ministry of Jesus Christ. (see Eph 4.11-16)

Tim, that’s what they call ‘corporate anointing’, and it’s funny to see how far behind the church actually is compared to the world…
If you look at businesses they don’t run the ‘one man does all’ methode for years! Ever since the industrial revolution it has become apparent 2 or more companies merging, multiple people having multiple functions actually create a cheaper, better, and therefor a more efficient end product.

Companies apply this rule, the church should have for 2000 years already!

The five fold ministry is very important, but everyone is annointed with different gifts. They need exploiting! Not only those 5 aspects, which in essence are all given by one Spirit.
in fact, a prophet that can clearly hear the voice of God can do all; teach, preach, pastor, or even apostle a church, as long as he hears and follows God diligently, for it is one spirit speaking and a human interpreting.

Perhaps I might be wrong, but it is good in my eyes to train the people. Make them DO. Do worship, do play an instrument, do go on missions. From there God will speak and direct the hearts of the people.
