Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. -2 Timothy 4
I have had people ask me if I was ever going to start a “church.” It always makes me chuckle. I am not a nose-wiper or a wet-nurse and I have no desire to coddle weak Christians.
Don’t take that the wrong way. I am always ready to help someone improve their spiritual walk, but I refuse to lie down on a soft pew, stroke someone’s back, and tell them what a brave little Christian he or she is.

One evening last autumn, I sat long hours with a European acquaintance while he expounded a political-economic doctrine which seemed sound as a nut and in which I could find no defect. At the end, he said with great earnestness: "I have a mission to the masses. I feel that I am called to get the ear of the people. I shall devote the rest of my life to spreading my doctrine far and wide among the population. What do you think?"
Yoga is a commonplace word that fifty years ago was rarely known to western civilization. Yet, today, the yoga phenomenon and philosophy are found even in our elementary classrooms. Under the guise of exercise and fun, our children are led in yoga poses imitating frogs, birds, snakes, and cats.
Church looked exactly the way he thought it should. The ushers were in position. The people were assembling. The armorbearers were ready and waiting to serve. Yes, everything seemed just fine… until he stepped up to the podium to preach the word of the Lord.
Christians should beware the counterfeit of the Holy Spirit found in yoga and the Kundalini spirit. When most people hear the word “yoga,” they understand it to be an exercise. They envision a person on a mat striking poses and practicing stretches to develop the body and relax the mind. But there is more to it than meets the eye. These poses and stretches embody more than physical exercise. Yoga has power to unleash the Kundalini spirit.
Holy living in a fallen world. In today's society holy living has almost become a byword. People are more concerned in the life that they are living then in the life God has called us to live. As the days continue into months and months roll into years, time seems to usher in a new beginning.
To discern is to look at what we see, either physically or in our understanding, with a close consideration of its real content and character. It suggests, "A looking into or inside of." Discernment is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit to believers. I observe that all believers have some measure of discernment, but certainly some are especially gifted and strong in this ability.
Two years ago we joined the ranks of Grandparentdom. We were excited and filled with anticipation. Deb was in the room with our daughter, Megan as she prepared to give birth. I had been privileged to witness the birth of both our children but now it was my turn to play the role of the guy pacing in the waiting room. I fulfilled that role well. Knowing fully that our daughter was in God's hands and that He would take care of her, I still worried. Would she pull through okay? Would our new granddaughter be healthy or would there be complications? The only way I'd know was if someone would come out and tell me.
Fervent prayer is really a bench mark of a healthy New Testament church. Prayer is one of the hardest things to get going in places of worship. I recall the country's typical for prayer gatherings was approximately five percent attendance. That could be precisely why quite a few ministries tend to be dull and exanimate. Not so inside New Testament apostolic places of worship.
You know the story. Girl meets guy. Guy woos girl....says stuff like, "You're just so beautiful," and "I can't believe how wonderful you are," and "Other guys were fools not to see how much you ____," and so on.
Much has been said about brothers and sisters that were victims of false accusations. Many accept it as a sign that they are right in the center of God's will and use it as evidence that they are doing damage to the kingdom of darkness. However, today I want to be very honest with you; there are times when the accusations raised against us are indeed, true. I am not talking about "mistakes." I am talking about sins that we are committing even now in the mix of all our Biblical knowledge. This article is a cry of urgency for honestly and transparency in the Body of Christ!
How Husbands Disrespect Their Wives
There are many enemies of Christ and His Church and we who call Jesus Lord are in a state of war. Battles are joined, prisoners taken and prisoners set free. Some battles are grand in scale and envelope whole geographical regions, others are like community guerilla warfare and others like personal hand-to-hand combat. All Christians will fight in these battles until the Final Battle is won.
I still remember the look of guilt on the face of a young girl who had come to my office for counseling when she asked me "What is Satanism? Who is Satan? I mean, who created him?" I looked at her for a while, trying to figure out what she really wanted to know. I needed to know whether this was an "I'm trying to trap you to see whether you know what I know" question of a fifteen year old, or whether she seriously wanted to know about Satanism. I prayed, asking God to give me wisdom. I was the school counselor and had given some talks on spiritual warfare at the Wednesday night youth group meetings.
In 2 Chronicles 20:4-7 the Israelites under King Jehoshaphat were attacked by several enemy armies and one of their cities was captured. From their stressful situation, we can learn how to call on the Lord and pray for our stressful situations. The first thing that King Jehoshaphat did when he stood in the house of the Lord to pray, was to declare that God was in control in heaven and here on earth.
