Greetings from The Voice publisher. The House Appropriations Committee released the following written summary of the stimulus plan. We encourage you to read it and let us know what you think. Will it stimulate the economy?
Review the Stimulus Plan
The Handwriting On the Wall
During this first month of the New Year 2009, we have seen some stunning developments that, considered together, should leave absolutely no doubt about the rising radical Islamic threat on our doorsteps in America.
Ted Haggard, Another Homosexual Relationship?
Ted Haggard is in the news again. This time his former church revealed that Haggard had a homosexual affair with a young male church volunteer. You may remember Haggard as the former pastor of the 10,000 member New Life Church in Colorado Springs until members found out he had a three year homosexual tryst with male prostitute Mike Jones.
The Fight for Life Heats Up Worldwide in the Obama Presidency
"Barack Obama begins his presidency by increasing the number of abortions worldwide with his order to fund abortion groups. The U.S. spends over $450 million each year on international family planning. Obama's order would funnel money away from legitimate health organizations to political allies that promote or commit abortions, in some cases in countries where abortion is illegal," said Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America (CWA).
The Abortion Bailout Has Begun -- Your Tax Dollars at Work
Today the President Barack Obama is anticipating repeal of the pro-life Mexico City Policy on the 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
President Obama campaigned on finding 'common ground' on abortion policy, but his anticipated decision to roll back the common sense Mexico City Policy will signal to American taxpayers that the abortion bailout has begun," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony List.
She continued, "Today is the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and abortions here in the U.S. are at their lowest number in years -- so it's unfortunate that President Obama is poised to make subsidizing abortion abroad one of his first priorities."
America should respond to women's needs in developing countries with real assistance that also upholds their dignity, not by promoting or paying for abortions.
"I strongly urge President Obama to reconsider his decision to bypass the will of American taxpayers and promote the radical agenda of the abortion lobby," said Dannenfelser in a press release today.
Public opinion polls regularly reflect that over 60 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortion. A December Harris Interactive Poll found 63 percent of Americans favor laws preventing the use of taxpayer funds for abortions.
Over 72,000 letters have been sent to the U.S. Senate through the Susan B. Anthony List Stop the Abortion Bailout! Campaign (www.stoptheabortionbailout.com), advocating the preservation of federal abortion funding restrictions. The campaign's goal is to secure the 41 votes necessary to sustain a filibuster against measures promoting federal taxpayer funding of abortion.

Prayer of Gay Bishop Gene Robinson at Inaugural Event
The Episcopal Bishop gave the invocation at an Obama inaugural event yesterday and asked "the god of our many understandings" to "bless this nation with anger – anger at discrimination, at home and abroad, against refugees and immigrants, women, people of color, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people."
FEDS Sweat Secret Payments of $1.2 Trillion
The heat is on the FEDS! Did you know that the Federal Reserve spent $1.2 trillion dollars of your taxpayer money in secret to undisclosed recipients including "foreign central banks?" So much for transparency. That's over $4,000 for every American in the United States. In this interview Fed Vice Chair Donald Kohn says the FEDS "will not publish the names of the borrows." The question from Congressman Alan Grayson is, "What gave you the authority to say that you won't publish the names of the borrowers? Isn't that something we (the Ameircan citizen) should be deciding and not you?" He also asked, "Do you think the American people would be angry to find out how their money is being spent?" Folks, it's time to get this information out in the open. This is a good start. Here is the video:
New Poll Expresses American Views on Israel-Hamas Conflict
Will America stand with Israel? Or will President-Elect Barack Obama abandon our long-term ally even as pundits predict Israel can't win the war against Hamas? Who's to blame for the ongoing drama over the small strip of land in the Middle East?
A new bipartisan poll commissioned by The Israel Project (TIP) shows that Americans blame the Palestinians for the current conflict in Gaza. By a wide margin, Americans blame “Hamas leaders who control Gaza” for the current humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Nearly half of Americans say they have seen, read or heard “a lot” about the military conflict in the Gaza Strip. Despite the ongoing operations in Gaza, Americans side with Israel over the Palestinians by a 57 percent to 8 percent margin, virtually unchanged from the pre-Gaza War November 2008 polling.
Planned Parenthood of Indianapolis Violates State Law Covers Up Statutory Rape
LOS ANGELES -- The complete footage shot at an Indianapolis Planned Parenthood showing clinic employees covering up the reported statutory rape of a 13-year-old. Live Action releases the unedited footage to show the story in real time, as clinic employees met the UCLA student investigative journalist, Lila Rose, posing as a 13-year-old and heard her describe how a 31-year-old man had impregnated her. Once in the counseling room, a Planned Parenthood nurse assured Rose that she would not report the statutory rape and instructed her how to obtain a secret abortion across state lines.
Rose challenges Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) to show transparency. In an open letter issued twelve days ago, Rose requested that Betty Cockrum, president of PPIN, disclose her organization's data on how often it provides birth control, pregnancy testing, STD testing, and abortion services to minors under the age of fourteen and how often it has reported these cases to Child Protective Services. The organization has not responded.
"If Planned Parenthood has concern for the children of Indiana, as they claim, why don't they disclose the statistics that will help law enforcement apprehend the scope of the problem? We are willing to be open and transparent about our methods and activities because we have nothing to hide, can Planned Parenthood of Indiana say the same?" Rose said.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana has tried to keep the matter private, promising a "thorough internal investigation," although state authorities have intervened and opened an investigation into the abortion provider's handling of statutory rape cases.
Rick Warren Applauds Obama for inviting Gay Bishop to Pray at Inauguration
"President-elect Obama has again demonstrated his genuine commitment to bringing all Americans of goodwill together in search of common ground," Warren said in a statement to Christianity Today. "I applaud his desire to be the president of every citizen.”
It is evident the President-Elect seeks to please everybody avoiding being principled on any issue. His one guiding principle seems to be, to be all-inclusive and please everybody at some point or another. Obama took a lot of heat from the gay community when he invited Rick Warren to pray at his inauguration. Now, without a doubt he will come under fire from Christian conservatives for allowing gay activist "Vicky" Bishop Gene Robinson also to pray at the event. In a NY Times article Robinson said of Obama's choice for the invocation, "“it was like a slap in the face.”
“I’m all for Rick Warren being at the table,” Bishop Robinson told The New York Times, “but we’re not talking about a discussion, we’re talking about putting someone up front and center at what will be the most watched inauguration in history, and asking his blessing on the nation. And the God that he’s praying to is not the God that I know.”
Warren did not answer directly when asked whether he would dedicate his prayer to Jesus. In a statement to The Associated Press, Warren would say only that, "I'm a Christian pastor so I will pray the only kind of prayer I know how to pray."
On the other hand, Robinson said in an article with Concord Monitor that he doesn't yet know what he'll say, but he knows he won't use a Bible.
"While that is a holy and sacred text to me, it is not for many Americans," Robinson said. "I will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer. This is a prayer for the whole nation."
How times have changed. We went from Billy Graham, a true Man of God to Rick Warren, to an openly Gay Bishop to sanctify the American presidency. Will all future presidents allow different groups -- which they seek to appease -- to pray or do something at their inauguration? Should we please God or man?
Rescuing Children from the Corrupt and Decaying Government Education System
A key stumbling block preventing some Christian leaders from openly calling for the long overdue exodus of Christian families from government education has been the mistaken belief that traditional Christian schools and homeschooling are the only alternatives to government schools.
Consequently, a central focus of "The Call to Dunkirk" message is helping parents and pastors understand that, in addition to the excellent choices of Christian schools and homeschooling, technology now makes inexpensive Christian education alternatives readily available. These options are spiritually, morally, and academically superior to government schools and any church, large or small, can easily implement them.
Many small Christian ministries and organizations support the K-12 Christian education or home schooling agenda for renewal of family, church and culture. In the past, however, some of the larger Christian organizations, denominations, and pro-family ministries have mistakenly supported public school reform rather than calling for an exodus of Christian families from the rapidly disintegrating public school system. Fortunately, these ministries are beginning to see that school reform efforts are futile given the manifest failure of school reform and the continued cultural deterioration.
Dr. Bruce Shortt a Harvard Law School graduate who also homeschools his three sons commented, "A lot of time has been wasted on school reform. You can no more reform the government school system than you could reform the Soviet collective farm system. The model is a mistake. Conservative school reformers are a lot like Civil War re-enactors who specialize in Pickett's Charge. They never take the high ground; they never really win. What we need today is new leadership."
Dr. Voddie Baucham who pastors Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, TX challenges African-American families saying, "Black families ask me, 'Why should we leave the public schools after our forefathers fought, marched and sometimes died for us to have the right to attend.' My response is simple, our forefathers fought, marched and died so we wouldn't have to settle for the kind of education inflicted on minority children today. We need to march some more. And the first place is out of the front door of these Christ-dishonoring, academically inferior, soul-killing government indoctrination centers."
Dr. Bruce added, "The Left has always understood that whoever controls the children owns the future. This is why so many of the 60's radicals like Bill Ayers went into education. Now they effectively control the government school system. But worse, we give them our children."
The founder of The Exodus Mandate Chaplain E. Ray Moore points out that the 2008 elections conclusively show the failure of the "lobbying, voting and legislative model" most of the pro-family movement have relied on to slow down and reverse the cultural and spiritual slide in the US. Moore further notes, "Christian and pro-family organizations are fighting in the right war but often use the wrong weapons and misdiagnose the real problems. We believe "The Call to Dunkirk" will help large Christian ministries, denominations, pro-family organizations, and families bring the true problem into focus and better understand the many available, practical solutions.
