Poll: Americans See Tax Cuts as Economic Solution

We’ve seen stimulus package after stimulus package, yet the economic doom and gloom continues. Although Wall Street recently saw a week-long rally, reality is setting in as the Obama administration continues to set the course toward socialism in America.

Tax increases are a breath away unless Americans stand up and speak out and reformers with the political willpower to make a difference offer up solutions we can all support. The Reagan way is tax cuts, and it’s a proven economic stimulus that doesn’t leave several generations of Americans burdened with debt they didn’t create.

A record number of voters agree that tax cuts would help spur economic growth. A Rasmussen Reports poll released March 26 finds 63 percent of all voters now say tax cuts will help America’s economy. That’s an increase from the 56 percent measured in February and the highest number since Rasmussen began tracking the question in the mid-1990s. Among unaffiliated voters, the number is even higher – 68 percent.

The Rasmussen poll also finds 51 percent of voters believe increasing taxes hurts the economy, the highest number since early January. Yet President Barack Obama is doing little to assuage fears his tax hikes will hurt the economy.

The Rasmussen poll also finds 52 percent of voters think they already pay their “fair share” of taxes, and more voters prefer a candidate who opposes all tax increases (43 percent) than one who only wants to raise taxes on the rich (42 percent.)  Last month, voters preferred the “tax-the-rich” candidate by a 44 percent to 40 percent margin. Now, we are seeing the tide turn.

While Obama promised to raise taxes only on families whose combined income was more than $250,000 a year, as well as a tax cut for “95 percent of working families,” Americans are skeptical.  Sixty-six percent of voters think Obama will raise taxes on families making less than $250,000 a year.

More tax hikes could indeed spur a revolt, even as Americans organize more than 1,000 TEA parties across the nation on April 15. If you want to take your country back from non-representing representatives who are gearing up to add hidden taxes through energy use even while they raise income taxes in broad daylight, visit The Voice magazine’s TEA party page to learn about ways to get involved.

Regarding taxes, the people have forgotten the following. They have forgotten that the Founders had made the 10th Amendment to reserve the lion's share of government power to serve the people to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress.

In fact, Chief Justice Marshall had established the following case precedent, now wrongly ignored, which appropriately limits the power of the feds to lay taxes.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Chief Justice Marshall, GIBBONS V. OGDEN (1824) http://supreme.justia.com/us/22/1/case.html

So Obama's constitutionally unauthorized stimulus package can be thought of as the feds returning money to the states that the feds had stolen from the states anyway.

The reason that we've got an unconstitutional big federal government is this, in my opinion. The Constitution-ignoring MSM has taken advantage of widespread ignorance of state sovereignty, turning the Oval Office into a throne room which serves special interests.

The bottom line is that the people need to wise up to the following. They need to wise up to the major problem of ongoing unlawful usurpation of state powers by the feds and repeal the 16th Amendment, the amendment that gives the feds the power to tax citizens directly. The problem with that amendment is that it has made it too easy for the corrupt federal government to lay constitutionally unauthorized taxes.

"Sixty-six percent of voters think Obama will raise taxes on families making less than $250,000 a year."

This is not what he has done or wants to do.

But then again you are from a tribe that looks at something that is white and say that its black.

Where's the outrage at Bush who got us in this mess in the first place?

Where's the outrage at his complete disregard for our constitution?

I'm so tired of this throwing around of the word "socialism" when you disregard the benefits of what would already constitute socialism:
You have parents? Do they get SS? Socialism by another name?
If you have a Downs S baby like your beloved Sarah Palin; assistance is provided but some could call it socialism.
You have a family? want to deal with a medical issue; an emergency without having to prove you can pay in advance? Some call that socialism.
Other countries have better health care; transit , food, cars, lifestyle, vacation - Repubs are for having babies but do not support the mothers need to stay home with the child - hmm; other countries have that - some would call it socialism.
