Arabs unmasked by Netanyahu speech

Like a well-smacked pool ball, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Sunday night policy speech reverberated around the world, triggering reactions ranging from the extremely positive to the vigorously negative.

While not unexpected, the universally rejectionist Arab response unmasked yet again that people's disinterest in living in peace with Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sunday SpeechPalestinian Arabs reacted with anger to the Israeli leader's offer of a homeland inside the Land of Israel and his call for their reciprocal recognition of Israel as the national home of the Jewish people.

"Netanyahu wants to put us in a situation where he looks like he offered something, and we said no," Palestinian Authority spokesman Sa'eb Erekat said. "Netanyahu's speech was very clear. He rejects the two-state solution."

According to the Reuters news agency, PA 'Prime Minister' Salam Fayyad said Netanyahu had "failed to meet the expectations of the international community."

Lebanon slammed Netanyahu's "intransigence" when dealing with peace or the Palestinian refugees."

The Lebanese Hizb'allah mockingly chided the prime minster for disappointing "so-called moderate Arabs" who were hoping for peace with Israel.

A state-run Saudi daily, Al-Nadwa, decried "every paragraph of Netanyahu's speech [for making] us more pessimistic."

Syria called on the world powers to force a stop to the building of Jewish communities.

Reactions from Egypt and Jordan - the two Arabs states with which Israel has signed peace treaties - were similarly hostile.

"Netanyahu offered rotten merchandise. Nobody will buy it," editorialized the Jordanian pro-government Al-Rai.

His peace mask slipping to reveal a sneer, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak accused Netanyahu of "further complicating the situation and scuttling any chance of peace."

Elsewhere the response was less focused.

After initially calling the Israeli's stance an "important step forward," US President Barack Obama concurred that there was still a lot of work to do.

The European Union damned Netanyahu's comments with faint praise, saying they were a step in the right direction, but did not go far enough to warrant the raising of relations with Israel to a higher level.

Russia said Netanyahu's "acceptance" of the creation of a Palestinian state proves "Tel Aviv is open for peaceful dialog" with the PA "but would not help Mideast talks.

Silly Jews
written by Vic, June 16, 2009
How silly can Jews really be?

US "Jews" supported Anti-Christian Candidates weaking their only allies in the world and those who defend their right to exist.

In Israel.. they talk, talk, talk, while men with dirty beards plan and cheer while Jews are attacked.

Like I said... Silly Jews..

Shalom

Have we forgotten Gaza?
written by Becky, June 18, 2009
Is the whole world gone blind? All you have to do is look at what happened in Gaza and realize that the Palestinians don't want peace. They took a land of farms and greenhouses and turned it into a war zone, just like they would if they had their own state. They don't belong in Israel, they belong in Jordon!

Israel is right

It is about time that Israel tells others that they have given and given only to bombed even more. I think it is something to brag about that Natanyahu finally said we have given enough now it is your turn to come to the table with something for us!

Bravo, Mr.Netanyahu!

The Arab's response was so predictable!
I thank God that Mr. Netanyahu understands the importance of The Land that God gave to the descendants of Israel. God warned them several times in His Word to NOT divide The Land! A 2-state solution is unBiblical! Obviously the Arabs don't really want "peace with Israel, but rather "Israel in pieces!" BUT YHVH WILL INTERVENE! Shalom!

Arabs unmasked Netanyahu's speech
written by Marcia, June 24, 2009
Its time we face the truth. Isreal does not have to share land with the Palestanians. There is no need for a two state situation. Go back to the ancient writings...it is clear, the land belongs to the jews. The USA should stay out of the matter, leave the Isreali people's land alone, God Almighty will work it out. Do not force Isreal to give up land for peace. The Palestineans do not want peace, they are blood thirsty, wicked and unjust. Know this, the nations will answe to Almighty God for their treatment of Isreal - The Jews.
