Miss California Starts Campaign against Gay Marriage

The first runner up in the Miss USA pageant, Carrie Prejean is heading to Washington to launch her campaign against same-sex marriage.

The battle began when the homosexual judge Perez Hilton asked a politically charged question, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalise same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?"

Miss California Starts Campaign against Gay Marriage Prejean being a Christian, understanding this to be test from God hesitated at first, but didn't back down, saying: "Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage .... And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offence to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be - between a man and a woman. Thank you very much."

As part of the campaign a new television ad was launched featuring footage of the 21 year old Miss California explaining her support for marriage between a man and a woman, and then being verbally attacked by gay marriage activists. The ad also features footage of a gay marriage activist from the Human Rights Campaign referring to supporters of marriage as "outright bigots."

National Organization for Marriage (NOM), a pro traditional marriage organization has joined Prejean in her campaign.

"Carrie only said what the majority of Americans believe: marriage means a man and a woman," said Maggie Gallagher, president of NOM. "Her example resonates, especially to many young Americans, because she chose to stand for truth rather than surrender her core values."

Gallagher said the behavior of Carrie's critics raises questions in a lot of folks' minds, "If this is how they treat good people who disagree with them now, what will they do once they have the power of the law on their side?"

Prejean has risked everything in answering celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's question about legalizing same-sex marriage, it may have cost her the title as Miss California.

In numerous interviews Prejean remains consistent in her conviction about marriage saying that, "Marriage is something that is very dear to my heart." And now she's on her way to Washington D.C. to do her part to save it.

Thou must not hate, so says the hate law about to be passed. Join hands and rejoice in diversity of opinion and defend Miss California's right to speak and vote her mind

i believe she is right on how she spoke her mind because all that bill would do is backfire on everybody an it would be a turn for the worse in every way . an if the "people" don't like it well that's there opinion.

Truth is Truth !!!
written by Heidi, May 08, 2009
She has a right to her opinion and she is not aggressively yelling at gays. But the gays are like mad dogs at her throat. This NOT about hate, except that the hate that comes from many gays towards people who disagree with them.
No way is she being hateful. And she should stop being attacked for what she believes in. She speaks THE Truth...not just her truth. I really would not like to see what would happen to people like her and me if gays got the law behind them. Maybe if the gay people would be as courteous as she was and is more people would be more accepting of them.

Judge NOT
written by Joe, May 12, 2009
Here we have a blonde-bimbo who acts so incredibly holier-than-thou with her deep-rooted Christian beliefs (however, she seems to not have a problem taking very racy photographs - is THAT Christian? Hmmm, don't think so) - the only reason "The Donald" gave his approval (he did comment that they were quite "lovely") is because he is a male PIG who of course will be in approval of a pretty girl in racy photographs - of course he will be all FOR that... Gay Americans ARE (In case anyone may have forgotten) ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS who pay their TAXES to this Great nation - yet we have a so-called Christian saying that gays are LESS than an American Citizen - Gay people obviously are NOT EQUAL to other Americans - and isn't this country built on EQUALITY FOR ALL? I guess not - we are instead built on CHRISTIANITY and it's beliefs - rather than following the original rule that their MUST BE a separation of CHURCH and STATE- Bottom-line is that she DOES NOT represent ALL AMERICANS - she represents the close-minded Right Wing school of thought - and that is SO SAD.
