Poll Shows American Public Rejects Obama's Radical Abortion Policies
WASHINGTON, Feb. 3 -- A Gallup Poll released yesterday shows that nearly two-thirds of the American people disapprove of Obama's radical abortion policies.

The poll showed that only 35% approved of Obama's releasing American tax money to groups that promote abortion overseas. This was the lowest approval rating of the seven policies that were included in the poll. (View the poll)

Obama released the funding late on his first Friday afternoon in office, a tactic that is meant to hide the information and minimize media coverage.

"This proves that Obama's radical support of unrestricted abortion is an extremist position that is out of touch with the American people. He knows it, too, or he would not try to sneak these policies under the radar," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "Obama cannot cover up the fact that he is fanatical about his support for abortion and will surely go down in history as the Abortion President."

Rick Warren Applauds Obama for inviting Gay Bishop to Pray at Inauguration
Rick Warren compliments Barack Obama's invitation to openly gay activist Bishop "Vicky" Gene Robinson to pray at his inauguration on Sunday.

"President-elect Obama has again demonstrated his genuine commitment to bringing all Americans of goodwill together in search of common ground," Warren said in a statement to Christianity Today. "I applaud his desire to be the president of every citizen.”

It is evident the President-Elect seeks to please everybody avoiding being principled on any issue. His one guiding principle seems to be, to be all-inclusive and please everybody at some point or another. Obama took a lot of heat from the gay community when he invited Rick Warren to pray at his inauguration. Now, without a doubt he will come under fire from Christian conservatives for allowing gay activist "Vicky" Bishop Gene Robinson also to pray at the event. In a NY Times article Robinson said of Obama's choice for the invocation, "“it was like a slap in the face.”

“I’m all for Rick Warren being at the table,” Bishop Robinson told The New York Times, “but we’re not talking about a discussion, we’re talking about putting someone up front and center at what will be the most watched inauguration in history, and asking his blessing on the nation. And the God that he’s praying to is not the God that I know.”

Warren did not answer directly when asked whether he would dedicate his prayer to Jesus. In a statement to The Associated Press, Warren would say only that, "I'm a Christian pastor so I will pray the only kind of prayer I know how to pray."

On the other hand, Robinson said in an article with Concord Monitor that he doesn't yet know what he'll say, but he knows he won't use a Bible.

"While that is a holy and sacred text to me, it is not for many Americans," Robinson said. "I will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer. This is a prayer for the whole nation."

How times have changed. We went from Billy Graham, a true Man of God to Rick Warren, to an openly Gay Bishop to sanctify the American presidency. Will all future presidents allow different groups -- which they seek to appease -- to pray or do something at their inauguration? Should we please God or man?

The Abortion Bailout Has Begun -- Your Tax Dollars at Work
President Reagan first established the pro-life Mexico City Policy in 1984. Named for the city where it was announced, the policy declared that American tax dollars would not fund international organizations involved in performing or promoting abortions abroad. President Bill Clinton rescinded the policy his first day in office. President G.W. Bush reinstated the policy as his first executive order on January 22, 2001.

Today the President Barack Obama is anticipating repeal of the pro-life Mexico City Policy on the 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

President Obama campaigned on finding 'common ground' on abortion policy, but his anticipated decision to roll back the common sense Mexico City Policy will signal to American taxpayers that the abortion bailout has begun," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony List.

She continued, "Today is the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and abortions here in the U.S. are at their lowest number in years -- so it's unfortunate that President Obama is poised to make subsidizing abortion abroad one of his first priorities."

America should respond to women's needs in developing countries with real assistance that also upholds their dignity, not by promoting or paying for abortions.

"I strongly urge President Obama to reconsider his decision to bypass the will of American taxpayers and promote the radical agenda of the abortion lobby," said Dannenfelser in a press release today.

Public opinion polls regularly reflect that over 60 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortion. A December Harris Interactive Poll found 63 percent of Americans favor laws preventing the use of taxpayer funds for abortions.

Over 72,000 letters have been sent to the U.S. Senate through the Susan B. Anthony List Stop the Abortion Bailout! Campaign (www.stoptheabortionbailout.com), advocating the preservation of federal abortion funding restrictions. The campaign's goal is to secure the 41 votes necessary to sustain a filibuster against measures promoting federal taxpayer funding of abortion.

The Fight for Life Heats Up Worldwide in the Obama Presidency
WASHINGTON -- President Obama is expected to reverse the Mexico City Policy by signing an executive order to fund international groups that promote or commit abortions.

"Barack Obama begins his presidency by increasing the number of abortions worldwide with his order to fund abortion groups.  The U.S. spends over $450 million each year on international family planning.  Obama's order would funnel money away from legitimate health organizations to political allies that promote or commit abortions, in some cases in countries where abortion is illegal," said Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America (CWA).
