Georgia Defies Obama on Embryonic Stem Cell Research Funding
While President Obama was signing the executive order that would provide federal funds for destructive Human Embryo research today, the Georgia Senate's Health and Human Services Committee moved SB 169: The Ethical Treatment of Human Embryos Act to the Senate Rules Committee on a 7-6 vote.

The bill allows for the advancement of scientific research, while also addressing the important ethical questions related in the ongoing debate about Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research (HESCR).

Hate Crime Charges Filed in Abortion Controversy
Chicago-based Thomas More Society (TMS) filed civil Hate Crime charges in an Amended Complaint against an abortion clinic proprietor and ally in federal district court in Rockford, Illinois as part of an ongoing court battle.

Sterkeson physically threatened and then attacked Eric Nelson and Kevin Rilott while calling Nelson the "N" word several times, “A n...r, a n...r .  You are a worthless degenerate n...r.  Oh, you are a n...r! Judge Sends Pro-life Pastor Walter Hoye to Jail
Today, March 20, 2009, Pro-life Pastor Walter Hoye of Berkeley, California, was ordered to serve 30 days in county jail by Judge Stuart Hing of the Alameda Superior Court.

Hoye had been found guilty on January 15, 2009, of unlawfully approaching two persons entering an abortion clinic in Oakland. Judge Hing had also ordered him to stay one hundred yards away from the abortion clinic for three years. However, Walter Hoye refused this term of probation and would not agree to a stay-away order. Therefore, the judge denied the defense motion to stay the sentence pending appeal. Hoye was taken into custody from the courtroom.

Pro-Life Pastor Walter Hoye Sentenced to Jail for Violating City Law
Pro-life Pastor Walter Hoye was found guilty of violating "The Bubble Law," a city law that provides an 8-foot buffer zone between pro-life protesters and women entering the abortion clinics. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to stay 100 yards away from the clinic where he was arrested for the next three years.
