Gays Spew Hate Speech Against Christian Family GroupsA family organization that encourages parents to call their children out of school on April 17 (if their local school will be permitting students and/or teachers to remain silent during instructional time for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network's (GLSEN) Day of Silence) has been receiving threathening phone calls and e-mails from gays.

Lessons in religious liberty head back to schoolPublic school students, teachers, and parents will get a civics lesson on free speech this fall thanks to the National Free to Speak Campaign. Gateways to Better Education and the Alliance Defense Fund are working together to promote greater awareness of the U.S. Department of Education’s guidelines on students’ freedom of religious expression in public schools.
“Students have the liberty to express their faith at school,” says Gateways to Better Education President Eric Buehrer. “One of the most important civics lessons all students should learn is that freedom of religious expression is a fundamental right of all Americans, and, as the U.S. Supreme Court has stated, this freedom does not end at the schoolhouse gate.”

Parents to Protest Pro-Gay Day in Public Schools A national coalition of pro-family organizations is urging parents to call their children out of school on April 17 if their local school will be permitting students or teachers to remain silent during instructional time for the Day of Silence. The Day of Silence (DOS) is a political action formally sponsored by the partisan political action group, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), since 2001.
The implicit purpose of the Day of Silence is to undermine the belief that homosexuality is immoral. It is the belief of the sponsors of the Walkout that parents should no longer passively accept the political usurpation of taxpayer- funded public school classrooms through student silence.
