Conservative and Pro-Family Values Win Big at the Polls
Those who were ready to inscribe ‘RIP’ on the tombstone of conservative and pro-family values following the 2008 elections got a jolting wakeup call at the polls.

In dramatic fashion, Virginia ushered in three pro-life, pro-family, conservative Republican candidates – Governor-elect Bob McDonnell, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. Conservative Republican candidates picked up five state House of Delegates seats, including a dramatic come-from-behind victory for Scott Garrett in Lynchburg, who unseated the Democratic incumbent, Shannon Valentine. Valentine was ahead by about 1,400 votes after 19 of the 20 precincts were counted. After the final precinct votes were counted at Heritage Elementary School, Garrett jumped ahead by 210 votes.

Montgomery, Alabama "We the People" TEA Party

Who are we? We're your friends and neighbors. We're your best friends, and people you've never met. We're wealthy professionals and hard working blue collars. We're Republicans, we're Democrats, we're Libertarians, and we're Independents. We're "We the People". We're you.” This is how the organizers of the Montgomery, Alabama “Tea Party” describe themselves on their Web site: www.tricntyteapartycoalition.com.

The crowd behind the state capitol building was estimated to be as high as 3,000 people. One of the organizers, Parker Johnston, served as emcee for the spirited rally which took up the noon hour. He drew wild applause when he quoted these words: “When the people fear the government there’s tyranny, but when the government fears the people there’s liberty.”

Tacoma and Olympia, Washington TEA Party Report
In Washington State there were over sixty TEA Parties that I am aware of.

In Tacoma, we started at the Krispie Kreme's on Tacoma Mall Blvd. bordering I-5 South at 5 a.m. We started sending out caravans at 9 a.m. to the State Capital of Olympia with around 400 people. Most of us met at the Olympia City Hall for a march to the State Capital steps about ten city blocks away in the heart of Olympia. We were 2,000 strong for the march !!! We were greeted by 5,000 people already on the Capital Steps when we arrived at 11:45 a.m. Another 1,000 to 1,500 people joined us during the next two hours.
